Building Resiliency by Nurturing Creativity

Studio Manhattan Art + Design has teamed up with Art Where We Are to assist homeless children through art education. Our team is not only completely passionate about art, design, and photography, but in also helping to change children's lives. We know the significance art and art therapy to a child, and want to make sure that everyone worldwide is exposed to it's benefits.

Studio Manhattan has made a commitment to donate 5% of it's online proceeds to Art Where We Are. You to can get involved and can donate by clicking here.

Art Where We Are is a non-profit dedicated to building resiliency by nurturing creativity within children living in temporary housing. Creative expression in the shelters where the children are living; with open ended, process oriented visual art activities delivered in a safe, supportive and judgment free environment.

Vision:
Children deserve the opportunity to feel in control in their lives and confidence in their abilities. Encouraging children to explore ideas and materials builds deeper understanding of themselves and of the world around them leading to more hope, peace and compassion in the world

Guiding Values:
We believe that opportunities for creative expression are necessary for healthy child development. Access to art can help to heal emotional wounds, strengthen family bonds, and counter the adverse effects of homelessness.

Programs:
Our volunteers provide regular opportunities to make art, play with materials, and learn for children at a D.C. emergency shelter and Baltimore transitional housing program.
