I just wanted to pop by to share my new Studio Manhattan backpack with you. For those of you who know me from my blog, EllesEmpireState, you know I’m a bit of a bag lady. Whether it’s an oversized tote or tiny trinket of a clutch, I’m pretty much guaranteed to be all over it. And while my passion for purses never extended to the mandatory L.L. Bean monogrammed backpacks of my middle school days, I’ve recently found myself more than a little intrigued by the revamped return of this classic carrier.
Now, for a severely style conscious creature like myself, braving this brand new world of the backpack required some strategic styling. Since Studio Manhattan’s backpacks already possess that desirable grungy vibe, I decided a simple leather accent was all I needed to complete the this-is-so-much-cooler-than-what-I-had-in-school look. So I threw on my mint motorcycle jacket from All Saints and a pair of black leather pants and took my stars and stripes backpack for a stroll down the streets of Manhattan’s East Village (the perfect landscape for ensemble experimentation). The result? A much less overworked shoulder and an encouraging outpour of compliments. Try it!
